The Car that Every Rich Dude Wants to Have

Last year, Chevrolet went on record for releasing its most expensive car in its line. The car is none other than the popular car manufacturer’s flagship sports car: the Corvette, and this particular model is what Chevrolet calls the Corvette ZR1. The car is a result of General Motors CEO Rick Wagner’s challenge to his people to come up with a car that’s worth $100,000.

The 2012 Corvette ZR1 is a luxury sports car built of power, performance and prestige, and boasts a handcrafted LS9 638-horsepower supercharged V8 engine with titanium connecting rods and intake valves and a test track top speed of 205 mph, 0-60 mph in only 3.4 seconds, the fastest of its kind. The ZR1 also boasts a fuel efficiency of 21 MPG (miles per gallon) in highway driving and a refined and luxurious interior.

Indeed, the ZR1 is the fastest, most powerful car GM has ever produced, and rivals the world’s best luxury sports vehicles both on and off the track. This Corvette was the overall winner of the 2010 Car and Driver Lightning Lap competition, which pitted the ZR1 against the fastest cars in the world. And because it’s Corvette, it’s the only truly American sports car in the competitive class.

The car was first announced at the 12 Hours of Sebring race in 2005. As I mentioned earlier, the ZR1 comes with the sticker price of $100,000 and the price doesn’t top out there. For those who are truly wealthy and passionate about their cars, there are also a number of premium interior options and chrome wheels available – all for an additional price. Definitely, this car is a looker and rich dudes who don’t have anything better to do with their wealth would be hard-put in resisting its charm. The Corvette ZR1, the most expensive car in the Chevrolet Corvette line. Ever.
